Title page of part 1 printed in black and red, part 2 in black. Solid full-leather bindings, spines with 5 raised bands and two printed-lettering labels, red edges. Published: TYRNAVIAE, Typis Academicis Societatis Jesu (the university press in Trnava) in 1755. Overall good condition, only the bindings slightly worn, leaves stained in places. Vitus Pichler - Austrian Jesuit canonist and controversialist writer. He studied for the secular priesthood but, after ordination, entered the Society of Jesus in 1696. He served as professor of philosophy at the University of Dillingen and at the Jesuit College of St. Salvator in Augsburg. He became especially renowned in the field of canon law, which he taught at the universities of Dillingen and Ingolstadt. His last posting was at the Jesuit college in Munich.
